Editor's note: Each Saturday morning we bring you a Sunday Brunch recipe. Why on Saturday? So you have time to shop and prepare for tomorrow.
Savory scones are one of my favorite things to serve for brunch. They're great on their own, hot out of the oven with butter, or taken up a level and stuffed with bacon or breakfast sausage. Using what I feel is the cornerstone of a great brunch—the combination of sweet and savory—these scones take funky, salty blue cheese and combine it with caramelized onions. Although bacon is always a great choice at brunch, these scones are fantastic filled with a few thinly sliced pieces of steak.
